Patient safety and healthcare risk management is becoming more important as it ensures safe and high quality of care, and thus reduces cost of care and most importantly enhances patients’ experience and satisfaction. Currently, there is still a huge gap in the healthcare system at the national and international level, and lack of skills and experience on implementation of a successful and sustainable patient safety and risk management programs. This explains why preventable adverse events are still occurring. This course however will help tackle this issue by introducing attendees to the principles of patient safety and risk management in healthcare, as well as tools that can be utilized to identify patient risks within the healthcare organization as well as reliable solutions to help prevent occurrence of future harm. Also, attendees will learn how to establish and implement reliable patient safety and risk management programs at their institutions
